Biometrics in the Movie Stealth

Science Fiction or Reality?

In the movie "Stealth" (2005, Rated PG-13, and starring Josh Lucas, Jessica Biel, Jamie Foxx and Sam Shepard), the Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) called "EDI" or Extreme Deep Insertion and three Stealth "talon" pilots are attacking a fortified military headquarters after Intelligence learned that three terrorist leaders would be meeting there.  Then comes the cool part (for me, though my kids cared a lot less about this scene) when EDI (whose callsign is Tinman) announces, "Tinman has integrated all Network-centric spy satellites."  He then pipes in the secure video to the fighters that shows the results of his analysis.  First, we see a terrorist name Shaq El Hoorie speaking and Voice Analysis confirms his identity. We then see a terrorist named Soon Kit Din turn his head and the satellite zooms in on the eye to perform a "Biometric Eye Scan".  The Retinal scan confirms his identity. Lastly, the final terrorist's face is partially concealed from view but as he enters the compound he grabs the fence post leaving a latent fingerprint on the post.  Thus, a fingerprint match confirms his identity as Mansur Khan Shamsuddin.  Took about "stand-off" capability!! I am surprised they did not use facial recognition although the accuracy of that is lower.  Though I am not working on such standoff capability, I am working with all the basic technologies described in designing the next version of the Biometrics Automated Toolset (BAT).  Boy ... I better get to work on Satellite Data Fusion and Standoff Collection!  (maybe I'll put that into our next proposal ;^)
